Artificial Grass Product Overview- Lion Lawns

Struggling to choose the right product for your new artificial grass installation? Look no further than today’s blog for a complete product review, from artificial lawns to patios and indoor grass.

Depending on how often you use artificial grass determines the product that you should choose. If you prefer your lawn to be looked at but not necessarily a place for the children to be playing football every day, you could happily get away with a longer pile height product. These are our top spec products Eden and Vision Deluxe. Both require an infill to ensure the grass blades stand up tall, they are low to maintain but need a gentle brushing every now and then.

If your lawn will experience heavier usage, a shorter pile height would be preferred, this is because it is more resistant. If your lawn is going to be used for sports, consider a multi-sports grass such as play green, rather than a typical landscape grass, which will  not run the risk of going flat.

Play areas are predominantly a sea of different colours that children enjoy playing on, quite a lot! Therefore, a fully texturised product is a must and the turf needs to be non-abrasive too. Play green or play colour are suitable for this exact use and come in a variety of different colours and designs, including red, blue and yellow.

For our rooftop installations, we understand that people want the grass to look realistic but low maintenance. A brown thatch product could be what you need. Our Finesse Lite grass stands at just 22mm but is very realistic looking and perfect for a roof or terrace.

For a putting green you need a specific grass which grasps the ball roll and enhances playing performance. Golf Putt and Golf Putt Pro are two grasses which cater to golf specifications and mimic natural grass. Coupled with an all green fringe such as Vision or Vision deluxe, you can an area which you’ll simply never want to leave.

Indoor grass can be tricky to get right. If the right grass isn’t selected, the lifespan can be completely reduced due to the amount of times people walk on it. Indoor grass does not need any infill but you must make sure you pick a product that isn’t super long (unless you plan on never going in that room!). Of course we’re talking about flooring, walls are completely different, you can choose any of our landscaping products for walls, but floors we recommend play green or play colour.

Finally, we are onto decking and patios. Which work virtually the same way as artificial lawn grass does.  You need to assess how often you will use the decking before you pick your grass. Remember lots of usage equals a shorter pile height. Lower usage means you can get away with a longer pile height.
