Creative Ways To Use Artificial Grass

There are some obvious differences between natural grass and artificial grass. Living plants require light, water, and nutrients to grow. But they are also affected by gravity – they grow UP. Not so, with artificial grass. It needs no light, water, or food, and it can “grow” in any direction.

It’s grass gone versatile!

That means there is no end to the creative ways you can use artificial grass. You can go wild with artificial grass around your home. Or show off the innovative side of your business, commercial property or public building. Synthetic turf allows you to bring the outdoors indoors, too.

Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking beyond the lawn: 

• Outdoors, faux grass is ideal for more than the usual yard and garden installations. Use it to create a driveway that’s literally green and eco-friendly, too, allowing water to re-enter the soil instead of run off. Or pretty, mud-free pathways within your veggie garden. Install it on your balcony or rooftop. Or cover a hot exterior wall or concrete retaining wall. 

• Use it as indoor flooring – it’s perfect for a sunroom or a kid’s bedroom. Faux grass looks real, and it’s soft and fluffy underfoot. It’s also non-toxic, a plus for children’s spaces. Paint some flowers and trees on the walls, and add clouds or stars to the ceiling to turn your room into a secret garden. 

• Put it on an interior wall. Cover the whole expanse, for a fun look in your store or bar. Or apply cut-out shapes to make any artistic design you like. You can cut artificial grass any way you like, so make lines, circles, curlicues, stars – whatever fits your whimsy. Or give it a practical touch, by creating grassy house numbers, spelling out your business name or creating your logo in fake grass. Green not your color? Fake grass can be any color. 

• Cover objects — anything and everything, indoors or out. Benches in your garden, bar stools, flower pots or planters, tabletops, bookcases or shelves, an old steamer trunk. 

• Produce imaginative topiaries to grace the exterior or interior of your home or business. You’ll never have to trim them! 

• Make a set of placemats to use for outdoor parties or set the tone for a “backyard BBQ in January” dinner party. 

• Does your business exhibit at trade shows or similar events? Cover that ubiquitous-but-boring table with faux grass and see how many more people approach to see what you’re all about! 

• By now, almost everyone knows synthetic turf is perfect for adding a putting green or bocce ball court to your yard. But what about indoors? Put it in your basement or the bonus room for wintertime fun, or add some pizzazz to your employee recreation or break space.
