Improvements to Masich Place Stadium

Located in the beautiful urban wilderness of Prince George, British Columbia lies the historic venue of track and field at the 1990 BC Summer Games.  Masich Place Stadium is also home to the Prince George track and field club and serves as a training ground for athletes.  In an effort by the city to revitalize the facility and boost sports tourism, the re-development program includes improvements that will allow Masich Place Stadium to be a competitive capital for both provincial and national events.  In addition to exterior enhancements such as the painting of the grandstand structure and new landscaping, the stadium now features a new synthetic turf, multipurpose field.

“It will help ensure Prince George continues to have first-rate sporting facilities that make it an attractive place to live,” said Janine North, CEO, Northern Development.

The professional-quality, artificial grass field was manufactured by Act Global and skillfully installed by Carpell Surfaces.  Chief installer Stéphane Ranger expertly placed the turf to ensure that the community of Prince George has a pristine pitch that serves it needs.  The synthetic turf used to create the Masich Place Stadium’s new field has been specifically engineered for maximum player safety and performance.  This has been proven through laboratory tests as well and benchmarks against top natural grass facilities.
