It is that time of the year again, when we have a few hot days, then some showers. This is when you can get a urine odour from your pets, if they have a strong smelling urine.

All Seasons Synthetic Turf understands that this time of year in Perth, with the heat and humidity the uric acid crystals which are the source of the urine smell activates and releases the urine odour. In turn can stop you enjoying your artificial grass and your outdoor area  but you know it doesn’t have to.

There is a product available at All Seasons Synthetic Turf Port Kennedy showroom called urineFREE that you can use to eliminate the urine smelling crystals.

Synthetic grass is laid on  a base of crushed rock , fake turf has drainage holes in the backing to allow for drainage. When the synthetic grass has been urinated on, it is very likely that the urine run-off has seeped through the grass, into the rock and sand and will remain there. Once humidity or heat penetrates the grass the uric acid crystals which is the source of the urine smell activates and releases the urine odour.

Uric acid crystals are difficult to remove. Conventional cleaners and just water will not remove the uric acid crystals  although it will help to dilute it. Only a bio-enzymatic formulation found in urineFREE will remove uric acid crystals for good. UrineFREE has a bio-enzymatic action  that is designed to “eat” these crystals along with the urea and urochrome components of urine, this will eliminate the urine smell for good.

Helpful Hints;

• Do not use other cleaning or odour-masking products. (These coat the urine, making it more difficult to remove).
• Shake well before use

How to use

• It is important that you saturate the grass so that urineFree penetrates where the urine has made contact or drained through to remove urine smell. The urineFree needs to come in direct contact with with the urine. We find using a pump spray, the same as you would use for weed spraying is ideal and gives a nice even spray.
• Make sure it is not too hot a day as the urineFree will dry to quickly
• Make sure it will not rain before or after as this will dilute the urineFree
• Once you have sprayed the area, allow to air dry, then hose down the grass to remove the residue. It may take more than one application depending on the amount of urine to remove, a sniff test will help you decide

Do not let having a loved pet put you off having synthetic grass installed in your garden. It is much easier to maintain than re filling holes, trying to save urine burnt grass patches and the indents from  running tracks, let alone there coats being covered in sand and fleas.
